About my passion...

    Beads endure and inspire. They are a bridge between past and present cultures. I prefer old trade beads, especially African (glass), semi-precious stones, and various metals.

    Creation is the dynamic interaction of eye, mind, hand and material. I enjoy taking unrelated parts, combining and transforming them. I start with an idea, not a picture of the finished piece, but an idea usually about shape and color. I gather around me all the materials that feel right. Once I begin, the piece takes on a life of its own, dictating its growth, often turning out quite differently from the initial concept.
